A Stronger Family is a new project by BlankTape, an art and film production company specialized in new media.
In 2016, the idea of a documentary film accompanying the tenth year of this LGBT family, emerged from a conversation between the directors Paulo Mendel and Vitor Grunvald, with the former political representative of the collective, Elvis Justino Stronger.
Since then, the filmmakers have been working with members of the family to collect material for the feature film, and also for the webdoc version of the project. The objective is to follow the events and daily life of these LGBT people from the outskirts of São Paulo for a long period of time.
This is a committed process and a careful research led by a filmmaker and a visual anthropologist, with many creative and technical steps that should only be completed by 2018. Until then, the directors are interested in meeting as many Strongers as possible and are open to hear and register their life stories.
